Write the cycle as events
A useful cycle description names physical events rather than screen labels: part located, fixture clamped, head approaching, contact established, part or roller moving, contact released, film rewound and axes returned.
- Identify the sensor or position condition that permits each next action.
- Separate actions that must finish from actions allowed to overlap.
- Mark the first point where heat, pressure and relative motion exist together.
